Just returned from London where I had a couple of very inspiring days at the BBC Dancing With The Stars Creative Exchange. Since I work with Let´s Dance here in Sweden as a choreographer and Dance Producer it´s so interesting for me to meet the producers from the other countries who produce their versions of the programme. The original format is of course the British BBC Strictly Come Dancing show on which all the other programmes are based.
I started in Let´s Dance as a professional dancer. The first season I danced with the singer Anna Book. I liked dancing in the program even though it was a little bit nerve-wracking since the first time I took part we had just about moved to Sweden and I couldn´t really speak the language yet. Luckily Anna spoke a lot and I just tried to follow David Hellenius´ jokes and everything else going on around me the best I could. Although I enjoyed dancing in the show I much prefer to role I am doing right now. I love choreographing the opening numbers and I enjoy working with all of the professional dancers and celebrities to try and get the the best out of them on every occasion. It´s also a great challenge to try and solve any problems that pop up along the way. I also totally love working with our amazing Executive producer Elinor Aldal and fantastic Bild Producent Johan Sandklef.
A great AW event was organised for us all on a boat on the river Thames with nice food and drinks. Amazing feeling also to go back to London from time to time since Malin and I spent so many years of our career living and training there.
After two days of work shops, meetings, lectures and demonstrations it´s time to return to Sweden and Stockholm again. Feeling full of inspiration and new ideas and soon ready to tackle Let´s Dance 2018!
